The Washington Redskins still don't have a long term option at quarterback and the expectation is during draft weekend is where they could find one. One option that the team could have instead of drafting one is to try and trade Case Keenum and a pick to the Arizona Cardinals for Josh Rosen.

Peter Schrager of “Good Morning Football” thinks a deal that is a good move for both sides if the Cardinals draft Kyler Murray is to move Case Keenum and a pick for Josh Rosen.

“I think Keenum is the key one here, if I'm the Cardinals, I'm drafting Murray, trade Rosen and bring in Case Keenum, who was coached by Kliff Kingsbury in college,” said Schrager. “He's the perfect backup! Keenum and a second-round pick for Rosen, I think the Redskins need a quarterback here and it should be Josh Rosen.”

Keenum is a good backup and would be the perfect guy for Kyler Murray to learn about life in the NFL with. The only issue for the Redskins is as good as it would be for Murray to learn next to Keenum, Keenum would also be a perfect guy to help mentor Rosen in a Redskins uniform.

Even if Keenum would start this year at least at the beginning and give Rosen a little more time to learn that could be perfect for the Redskins.

If the Cardinals decide Keenum is what they need to get a deal done, the Redskins should make sure they pull the trigger.
