The Washington Redskins would love nothing more than to potentially put the nail in the coffin in a disappointing 2019 NFL season for the Dallas Cowboys in Week 17. It appears they will look to do it without quarterback Dwayne Haskins.
Haskins suffered a high-ankle sprain in the 41-35 loss to the New York Giants in Week 16. According to NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport, head coach Bill Callahan says he will be sidelined for the season finale in Dallas:

Haskins had been dealing before leaving the game with the injury after completing He was 12-of-15 passes for 133 yards and 2 touchdowns. The rookie was initially optimistic about being able to make his return for the last game of the season to try and end things on a high note, however, it appears he will not get the chance.

Washington made quite the investment when they took him with the 15th overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft. Unfortunately, it became evident early on that there were plenty of other shortcomings with this team and it certainly has had a major impact on his development.
Fortunately, Haskins has managed to show some promise in recent weeks and will be going into the offseason with plenty to work on as he looks to establish himself as the clear-cut starter.
The onus will fall on the rest of the organization to provide an environment where he can develop into a franchise quarterback.
