Every time there is a quarterback injury in the NFL, the biggest question asked is this the time that Colin Kaepernick will get signed, and every time the answer seems to be no. With the Washington Redskins losing Colt McCoy for the season and Alex Smith already sidelined, the team has had to turn to Mark Sanchez, and there are real questions if he is fit to lead the team.

After the Redskins game on Thursday night, JP Finlay of NBC Sports Redskins told the world that he thinks now is the time for the team to sign Kaepernick because he gives the team the best chance to make the playoffs.

“Obviously the biggest name is going to be Colin Kaepernick. It was discussed two weeks ago. It’s going to get discussed again now,” NBC Sports Redskins Insider JP Finlay said on Redskins Postgame Live Monday night.

“I don’t know. I think when you were bringing somebody in to back up Colt and Colt is your guy to give you a chance to keep this ship moving forward and maybe sneak into the playoffs, Kaepernick didn’t make sense. I’m not sure Kaepernick doesn’t make sense now.

“He’s the best of the available options and he’s probably better than the guy you have going. He hasn’t been in the NFL, hasn’t been in practice, hasn’t been in a game in some time. There’s a lot more to that equation. There’s a lawsuit against the NFL. There’s reported interest that the Redskins would never bring him in. There’s all sorts of things, but I think now the Colin Kaepernick discussion should at least be had.”

Kaepernick last played during the 2016 season when he started 11 games for the San Francisco 49ers. Since that point, he has become very involved in social activism, and there hasn't been a team that has been willing to take a chance on the former Pro Bowler.

Maybe this will be the week that Kaepernick finally gets another shot in the league.
