Green Bay Packers wide receiver Davante Adams thinks that if his team had more veterans, the squad would have fared better.

In an interview on Pro Football Talk’s podcast, the 25-year-old wideout said that having proven veterans on the depth chart would put the team in a better position to deal with situations when key players get injured.

“The more veteran, I don’t want to say backups, but when you have your two-deep [depth chart]. You start looking into your depth and the more veteran guys you have available the better off you can be. Not taking anything away from the Packers and how they draft and develop or anything like that because we have a very good team and we have some solid depth as well. But having those veteran guys that have seen it before and they’ve been out there for a little while definitely gives you a better chance to win the game.”

Adams thoughts could very well apply to the Packers’ quarterback situation.

Regarded as one of the favorites to win the Super Bowl entering this season, the Green Bay Packers hit an iceberg in the middle of their journey before breaking in half and sinking, taking with them their playoff hopes as well.

That iceberg was quarterback Aaron Rodgers’ shoulder injury that landed him on the injured reserve list and cost him eight weeks. Backup Brett Hundley led the Packers to a 3-4 record while acting as Rodgers’ placeholder, but his effort was not enough to keep the 7-9 Packers from finishing with their worst record since 2008.

Adams, however, could look forward to a better next season this 2018 with Rodgers back at the helm.
