It's a bizarre sight to see, but the Philadelphia Eagles lost their games to the hapless Miami Dolphins. An even stranger sight is to see Doug Pederson calling these same Dolphins as “good.”

Bleeding Green's Editor-in-Chief Brandon Lee Gowton was one of the first to report Pederson's unusual comments. It's safe to say that Pederson's words took him and many of the Eagles fans off-guard.

Good football isn't what one would associate with the Dolphins given the performances they've been giving this season. While Ryan Fitzpatrick did play well against the Eagles, that's more of a knock on the Philadelphia defense rather than praise for his quarterbacking abilities. This franchise will inevitably be looking for their new passer in the coming draft.

Though not the NFL's top tanking team, the Dolphins have struggled in 2019, as they've traded away much of their top-end talent in an effort to stockpile draft picks. Their eyes are set on the future, not the present.

It's been a rough season for the Eagles. Any grand illusion that they are still a Super Bowl-caliber team is gone. Carson Wentz is inconsistent; the defense gives away too much; Pederson looks like he doesn't know what to do with the team.

While he should have no concerns over his job security, Pederson is quickly losing the favor he earned with the Super Bowl LII victory. He can turn this ship around, but it's not likely that this season has enough time left for him to salvage a deep playoff run.
