Philadelphia Eagles head coach Doug Pederson has confirmed that quarterback Nick Foles will start on Sunday in the Wild Card matchup against the Chicago Bears.
Foles was forced to leave early in the team's 24-0 win over the Washington Redskins after suffering a rib injury, which left his status in doubt for a potential playoff game.
And, with the Bears handing the Minnesota Vikings a loss, the Eagles officially clinched their spot in the postseason to try to defend their Super Bowl crown.
But, despite the worries about Foles' status, Pederson made it perfectly clear as to who will be under center when the Eagles head to Soldier Field.
Nick Foles will start at quarterback against the Bears, Doug Pederson said. Tests on his ribs came back clear.
Considering how effective Foles has been since taking over for the injured Carson Wentz, this is certainly a big boost for the Eagles as they try to win back-to-back titles.
Foles has once again come through in the clutch in helping Philly secure several crucial wins during the stretch run of the regular season.
Of course, with everyone well aware of the bruised ribs heading into the game, there's no doubt that the Bears defense will be trying to take advantage of that potential weakness.
But even with the Eagles being the underdogs heading into the game, it's hard to count out Foles and company given what they've been able to accomplish over the past several weeks.
