One of the biggest storylines heading into the season opener for the Philadelphia Eagles surrounds their running back situation.
Following the decision to part ways with Ryan Mathews earlier this offseason, there hasn't been any clarity on who will handle the bulk of the workload. (h/t Bleeding Green Nation)

Pederson to keep the game plan for the running game close to his vest speaks to the inability of any player to create significant separation. Offseason addition LeGarrette Blount hasn't quite performed up to what the Eagles had expected when they signed him to a deal in free agency.
The only thing that is for certain at this point is that both Blount and Darren Sproles will play big parts in the running game this upcoming season. That said, this running back by committee approach that Pederson is taking is something that the New England Patriots have used for the last several years.
Ultimately, it appears that the Eagles are ready to take this week by week until given reason to do otherwise.
