Philadephia Eagles quarterback Nick Foles continues to garner praise for his play on the field, and that has some suggesting that he's the best in franchise history.

Foles has once again put the Eagles in a great spot, as the team has a chance to return to the playoffs due in large part to his excellent play over the past few weeks.

And after leading Philly to a Super Bowl title last year, that's helped Foles be pretty much universally loved by Eagles fans.

So, perhaps it shouldn't be all that surprising that someone would think that he could indeed be the best quarterback in the history of the franchise.

Here's the argument for that claim, courtesy of Reuben Frank of NBC Sports Philadephia:

With what he’s accomplished? The way he’s connected with the fans? The remarkable clutch performances in just about every big game he’s played? The positivity that eminates from his very being 24 hours a day?

The Super Bowl. The Philly Special. The TD to Alshon. Fourth down to Ertz. The game-winner to Ertz.

Just magic stuff. Plays and moments and memories that are part of our being and always will be.

Wherever he goes, whatever he achieves, wherever he winds up, the impact Nick Foles has made on the city and the people and the franchise is unparalleled.

This is one of those things that could be debated back and forth, but there's no doubt that Foles has been able to deliver in the clutch when given the opportunity.

He'll need to do that again on Sunday when the Eagles host the Washington Redskins, with the team's playoff hopes on the line.

If Foles and company can pick up the win against the struggling Redskins, all they'll need is for the Chicago Bears to beat the Minnesota Vikings to have a chance to return to playoffs and defend their Super Bowl crown.
