Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Nick Foles thinks that he should be just fine heading into Sunday's NFC Wild Card showdown against the Chicago Bears.
Foles left early in the Week 17 win over the Washington Redskins, as he suffered a rib injury that sent him to the locker room.
However, tests showed only bruised ribs, and that led head coach Doug Pederson to say that Foles would indeed be the team's starter against the Bears.
As for Foles, even with the recent injury, he expects that he'll be more than ready for the challenge in Chicago.
From Charean Williams of Pro Football Talk:
The Eagles quarterback said Wednesday he expects to be “feeling great” by game day.
“Yeah, a little bit of soreness, but every day drastically improving,” Foles said, via video from the team. “A lot of time working on recovery, getting ready for this game. But I feel great. We just did the first part of our day. I was able to move around a little bit and feel really good.”
Foles has once again played a huge role in the Eagles' success, which should come as no surprise since he led the team to a Super Bowl title last year.
He'll have a tough task ahead in trying to attack the best defense in the NFL, and the play of the Philly offensive line will be important in trying to keep Foles from taking too many hits.
With the Eagles playing very well right now, this could be one of the best Wild Card games of the weekend.
