In the last few weeks, there has been chatter around Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Nick Foles that the Cleveland Browns had attempted to make a run at acquiring him earlier this offseason. However, nothing had truly come about from that with Foles still firmly in position to be a member of the Eagles for at least the 2018 season.
On that same token, Foles has also acknowledged that he didn't turn any potential trade down as there were never any talks of that reaching him, according to Zach Berman of The Philadelphia Inquirer.
Foles: “I haven’t turned down anything. We haven’t talked about anything. …At the end of the day, I’m not the GM of the team. I have a great relationship with Howie to where if something did happen, we could have a discussion. But at the end of the day, he gets to decide."

It looks like these conversations were nothing more than that on both sides as the Browns had expressed their interest but it doesn't appear it even got past that point. This should now close the chapter on that situation with Cleveland now having a plan in place with Tyrod Taylor being the starter to begin the season while rookie Baker Mayfield will be working his way toward possibly taking the field down the line in the 2018 campaign.
The Eagles have made it clear that they are appreciative for what Foles has accomplished this past season by helping lead the franchise to a Super Bowl win in place of Pro Bowler Carson Wentz. The team has reworked his contract that will give him a couple more million incentive while allowing him to hit the free agent market next offseason.
It was a more than a deserving gesture toward Foles after he stepped up in his absence by being the leading force offensively with his arm that led to him outdueling New England Patriots star quarterback Tom Brady on the grandest stage.
For the time being, Foles is fully ingrained in the Eagles plans as he plays in a key spot behind Wentz, who is still recovering from a torn ACL and LCL that he suffered last December. If anything, this puts to rest that conversation around him moving forward.
