In the last couple of weeks, Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Nick Foles has dealt with nagging injuries that have limited his availability on the practice field in training camp.

Foles is currently recovering from a minor shoulder injury but has made enough progress to the point where he is expected to take the field for Thursday's preseason action against the Cleveland Browns, according to Josh Alper of Pro Football Talk.

That leaves Foles set to start again this Thursday when the Eagles take on the Browns. Foles was 3-of-9 for 44 yards against New England before getting hurt and Eagles coach Doug Pederson said that he’s looking for a sharper outing this time around.

The Eagles are hoping that this next time around could see a much more in-tune play from Foles as compared to his performance against the New England Patriots last week that ended with him suffering a shoulder injury on a strip sack. The 29-year-old is hoping to get on track ahead of the start of the 2018 season as he could be asked to step in for a game or two while Carson Wentz continues to make progress in his recovery from his ACL and LCL recovery over the next couple of weeks.

Philadelphia is more than comfortable rolling out with Foles under center if needed, but the team wants to get him playing at a high level for him to help lead the team if he is called upon. There is still much up in the air for Wentz's status that it has only increased the importance of reigning Super Bowl MVP to be performing well on the field in the preseason.

Ultimately, Thursday's game will be another opportunity for him to get back on track while prove he is past his previous injuries that have arisen in training camp.
