Earlier in the week, Philadelphia Eagles head coach Doug Pederson was forced to defend struggling quarterback Carson Wentz, who has not been great to start the 2020 regular season.
With Pederson and Wentz leading the Eagles to a disappointing 0-2 start to the year, the tandem need to turn things around in a hurry as the fans in Philadelphia aren't necessarily known for their patience or positivity.
Making matters even worse, though, an official NFL social media account unnecessarily jabbed Pederson, who previously served as a quarterback himself during his professional playing days. Of course, Pederson was not up to the caliber of Wentz on the field, but he has since rebounded quite well en route to leading the Eagles to the franchise's first-ever Super Bowl title as the team's head coach.

“Just missing,” Pederson recently said in defense of Wentz and his continued struggles, via NBC Sports Philadelphia. “I guess you can point to a lot of different things: Missing OTAs, not having all the necessary maybe reps during training camp, missing preseason games, whatever it might be, the timing of things that we do in the passing game and just missing these throws.
The Eagles initially blew an early lead against the rival Washington Football Team, a franchise that was not expected to remotely compete in 2020. Following up the Week 1 loss with yet another defeat in Week 2, the Eagles were routed by the surging Los Angeles Rams as the winless Cincinnati Bengals are now up next on the schedule in Week 3.
