After trading Zach Ertz, Dallas Goedert has become an even bigger target for Jalen Hurts. Against the Lions, Goedert led the Eagles in receiving with six receptions for 72 yards. He is a vertical threat in the offense and is Hurts' most reliable target.

Goedert should have a big impact against the Chargers due to his receiving ability and route running.

3. The Eagles' defense sacks Justin Herbert multiple times

While the Chargers' offensive line is much improved from last season, the Eagles' defense has proven to put pressure on the quarterback. Last week, Philadelphia had six sacks and was putting constant pressure.

It was a balanced output when it came to sacks as five different players had sacks against the Lions. Although they will likely not have another six-sack game, the defense should have a great game against the Chargers.

Justin Herbert will have difficulty against the pass rush, and it will play a significant role in the game.

Jalen Hurts didn't have a great outing against the Lions, but team effort led them to a win. Hurts threw for 103 yards and rushed for 71 yards. The dual-threat quarterback is inconsistent, but he should have a bounce-back performance.

On the season, he has thrown for 1,819 yards along with 10 touchdowns and only four interceptions. Hurts has also rushed for 432 yards and five touchdowns. He has solid weapons at his disposal and should have a good game against the Chargers.

1. Eagles win in a close game

This Eagles-Chargers matchup is bound to be great as both teams are fighting for a playoff spot. Both the NFC and AFC are very competitive this season, and games like these will be important down the line. Hurts has the potential to be the franchise quarterback of the team, but he needs to prove he can win games like this.

With Herbert on the other side, this game will be a battle between the young quarterbacks. Herbert has been one of the most impactful young players in the league, as he came in and had a great rookie season. He has followed it up with a phenomenal second campaign and will be hard for the Eagles to contain.

While these teams aren't ready to be Super Bowl contenders, they have young teams that would benefit from playoff experience. This game will be vital for Philadelphia to stay in the playoff hunt as they are currently behind multiple teams for the last playoff spot.

Although it is only a Week 9 game, it could pay big dividends for the Eagles if they come out on top.
