Pittsburgh Steelers star wide receiver Antonio Brown has received much scrutiny on and off the field throughout the first few weeks of the 2018 season.

It appears that he is involved in yet another situation, as Brown is being sued for nearly hitting a 2-year-old child with items he threw off a balcony at The Mansion at Acqualina located in Miami, according to Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.

A guardian of a 2-year-old boy is suing Brown for “intentional infliction of emotional distress and assault” after items flung from the 14th floor of The Mansions at Acqualina nearly hit the child, according to Miami-Dade County court filings. The child was with his grandfather near the pool area of the complex when large items — including two vases, an ottoman and other pieces of furniture — fell close to them, according to the filings, which say the child has experienced anxiety and trouble sleeping since.

This dates back to an incident that occurred back in April at the location where Brown allegedly yelled at a security and threw several items from an apartment off the balcony. Brown is also being sued by the owner of the condo that he is leasing from on the grounds for damages and breaching the apartment agreement.

This off-the-field incident draws more attention toward him for something aside from his play, and in a negative way. This may be something he looks to address in a quick, orderly manner in order to get it out of the way.

There are still likely more details that need to be sorted out first before things can proceed with the lawsuits against him. Either way, it paints him in a tough spot with an incident that occurred during the offseason.

There should be much more to come on this front as the case works its way through the court system in the coming days and possibly weeks.
