Art Rooney II looks like he's ready to put aside the Antonio Brown drama and make him an offer to come back to the Steelers.

This, really, was to be expected in a way, since Brown is still one of the best wide receivers in the game. And with all of the offers coming in for him even before the draft opened, the dye was cast, and it was made clear that Brown was an in-demand player.

Regardless, according to the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review, Rooney is ready to at least consider the possibility of bringing Brown back.

“There are a lot of factors we have to take into account on it. We’d have to sit down with Antonio and understand where he is and make sure he understands where we are. There is some work to do before we figure that out.”

While that doesn't exactly sound like a ringing endorsement of Antonio Brown, it does sound like Rooney is at least willing to consider an opportunity to give him another chance.

At the very least, Rooney is hoping to give guidance to Brown to avoid a repeat of his last performance on the field that got him benched for the last game of 2018.

What remains to be seen, of course, is whether Antonio Brown is willing to put aside his animus for Ben Roethlisberger to sign on with the Steelers yet again. If not, he may be in the running for several other pro teams, including the San Francisco 49ers.
