The Pittsburgh Steelers' faithful held their breath all throughout the team's opening game as they witnessed long-time quarterback Ben Roethlisberger make his comeback on the gridiron. He still played with caution as he recently had surgery to treat his elbow injury which abruptly ended his 2019 campaign last season.

The veteran gunslinger also spoke on an instance during the game where he got up limping at the end of an 11-yard run:

“I probably just grabbed my knee because I was moving so fast, but I feel great right now,” he said, via Brooke Pryor of ESPN. “Obviously, adrenaline still pumping, and we won the game. I’m going to be sore tomorrow and might have some bumps and bruises, but in terms of elbow and everything else, I feel really good right now.”

The injury scare didn't bother Roethlisberger at all as he managed to lead the Steelers offense at the forefront. He completed 21 of 32 passes for 229 yards along with three touchdowns. He now has a franchise-record 366 career touchdown passes, tying Eli Manning for eighth-most in NFL history.

Not only the quarterback but also wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster was able to find his groove and played like his previous self. The 2018 Pro Bowler had a total of 69 yards on 6 receptions along with 2 scored touchdowns. Fellow wideouts James Washington, Diontae Johnson, and rookie Chase Claypool all left their mark on the team's offense during their opening game.

Aside from the balanced scoring, the Steelers' defensive line remained formidable as ever. They successfully limited the weapons of the Giants which led to their 26-16 opening game triumph in MetLife Stadium.

The Steelers are in for a tough outing to grab their second win as they host the visiting Denver Broncos on September 20.
