Pittsburgh Steelers cornerback Joe Haden is loving what he’s seeing from his teammate and rookie safety Terrell Edmunds so far over the short time they’ve been together on the team.

Speaking with Chase Williams of WPXI, Haden bared that he’s impressed with Edmunds’ development so far, and most especially, with how the newcomer has harnessed the pressure as a first-round pick and used it as a source of motivation in practice and on the field during preseason games.

“He’s a very, very smart football player. He loves the game, he doesn’t do too much talking. He’s a student of the game. You love that from a high draft pick that just comes in there, hungry, ready to learn, and at the same time, he’s a baller. He can make plays in the box, he can cover. I’m just very, very happy just the way that he’s accepted all the challenges and takes coaching very well. He’s going to be good.”

As a rookie, Edmunds is going to experience some growing pains in the NFL. He already had his share of bad experiences. Just last week, he surrendered two touchdown passes during a 5-34 walloping at the hands of the Green Bay Packers at Lambeau Field.

Edmunds, however, bounced back in the following game. Against the Tennessee Titans at home last Saturday, Terrell Edmunds caught an interception off of a Marcus Mariota pass and ran the ball for 30 yards.

Together with Joe Haden, Edmunds looks forward to making life hard downfield for opposing receivers this 2018.

After three years in college with the Virginia Tech Hokies, Edmunds declared for the draft and was selected by the Steelers 28th overall.
