No team wants to get blown out in week one, but Pittsburgh Steelers coach Mike Tomlin thinks it's a good wakeup call for his team.
After the game Tomlin said there was nothing to sugar coat about what happened, they weren't ready for the bright lights of prime time.
“Man, no need to sugar coat it,” Tomlin said after his team mustered just three points against the Patriots in their season opener via Boston.com. “We weren’t ready for prime time.”
Tomlin knows that the Patriots did a lot good that made them struggle, but he also knows a lot of the blame goes on how the Steelers played.

As a team, they really struggled, especially converting third downs going only 3-for- 12 in such opportunities. James Conner and JuJu Smith-Schuster who are supposed to be the new stars of the offense didn't look the part, and they are going to need to improve going forward.
On defense, they looked lost and too many times there were blown assignments that resulted in big gains or touchdowns for the Patriots.
The good news for the Steelers is they still have 15 games left, but the job isn't going to get any easier in game two. On Sunday the Seattle Seahawks will be coming to town and moving to 0-2 wouldn't be all that shocking after how they looked in game one.
