The Pittsburgh Steelers are meeting with their potential 2019 draft pick on Monday, University of Georgia cornerback Deandre Baker.

Baker is a solid prospect and could be the answer for Pittsburgh in filling a much-needed void at the position.

Baker would likely be an instant starter, playing alongside Joe Haden and replacing former first round draft pick Artie Burns.

The cornerback position is a much-needed area of assessment for the team as they have been burned by opposing offenses often on the side where Burns normally plays. Haden has been solid for the team in the two years he has been with the team and it's unfortunate he can't guard both sides at once.

The Steelers are doing their due diligence in visiting with Baker and showing interest as he has been a standout at the position and could very well be the best at his position in the draft. Baker is right up there in terms of potential with LSU's Greedy Williams, who is projected to go as high as a top eight pick.

While Baker could easily slide to the Steelers at the 20th spot, his value is a steal for the team this late into the draft.

If the Steelers don't take either a middle linebacker or cornerback, they are throwing all hopes at rebuilding their defense aside as those are two major needs for the team.

This year's draft could set the record straight for the Steelers and they can nab a defensive back that all Steelers fans can be excited about with Deandre Baker.
