When you think of the Pittsburgh Steelers, one of the first things that likely comes to mind is a dominant defensive front.

The Steelers have had an incredible amount of great linebackers come and go over the years, with recent names such as James Farrior, James Harrison, Lawrence Timmons and LaMarr Woodley only a few of them.

So, naturally, Pittsburgh is targeting University of Michigan linebacker Devin Bush in the first round of the NFL Draft, according to Tony Pauline of NFL Draft Analyst.

Pauline went as far to say that the Steelers will take Bush if he is available when Pittsburgh picks 20th overall. However, he added that if Bush is off the board by that time, the Steelers have a backup plan:

“Kevin Colbert, the general manager of the Pittsburgh Steelers, was on hand for the Texas A&M pro day, and I’m told the team likes both Aggie linebackers Tyrel Dodson and Otaro Alaka,” said Pauline. “So I can see, if the Steelers lose out on Devin Bush in Round 1, maybe targeting Tyrel Dodson during the second day of the draft.”

So, obviously, the Steelers are going after a linebacker with their first pick.

Bush is coming off of a junior campaign in which he registered 66 tackles, 8.5 tackles for loss, 4.5 sacks and four passes defended.

The 20-year-old had his best season during his sophomore year, however, when he racked up 95 tackles, 10 tackles for loss, 5.5 sacks, an interception and seven passes defended.

Pittsburgh went 9-6-1 this past season, missing the playoffs for the first time since 2013.
