The Pittsburgh Steelers have relied quite a bit on Najee Harris this season, which the rookie running back has had no problem at all with this hefty responsibility.

Harris currently leads all offensive players in touches this season with 297, with Indianapolis Colts running back Jonathan Taylor (277) and Cincinnati Bengals versatile back Joe Mixon (273) ranking right behind him in this leaderboard. Overall, Harris has totaled for 1,270 yards from scrimmage, which ranks sixth in the league.

Even amid outside concern that the Steelers have been overusing the rookie running back, Harris has much embraced this high role with the team, which he touched on during a press conference ahead of the Week 15 clash against the Tennessee Titans.

“I train for this,” Harris said. “I train to carry the load.”

Being a focal point of an offense has been far from new for Harris. For one, now-former Alabama offensive coordinator Steve Sarkisian called upon Harris to be a feature talent for the Crimson Tide in the pass and rush attack over last season. Harris responded to the calling, as he notched 1,891 yards from scrimmage and 30 total touchdowns in his final campaign with Alabama.

As of late, Steelers offensive coordinator Matt Canada has called on Harris quite a bit, as the standout rookie has recorded at least 20 rush attempts and been targeted at least three times in seven games so far this year.

The Titans front seven may see Harris plenty of times in Week 15.
