It appears as though All-Pro wide receiver Antonio Brown has played his final game as a member of the heralded Pittsburgh Steelers. According to a Tuesday afternoon report from Adam Schefter of ESPN and a cryptic social media post from Brown himself, the Steelers wideout has formally requested a trade away from Pittsburgh.
As is tradition in modern time, Steelers fans wasted absolutely no time setting their Brown jerseys aflame — well, at least one fan has already lit such a fire.

Although Br0wn has requested a trade out of Pittsburgh, perhaps the jersey burning was a bit premature in this case? What if Brown and the Steelers can mend the fences before the 2019-20 season gets going? While this remains at least a little bit in play with the latest NFL offseason barely underway, this option seemingly remains tremendously unlikely at this point.

There is no doubt that Brown is in the midst of his prime and trading away a player with such talent will only hurt the Steelers in the short-term. Even so, because of the high-caliber player that Brown is, the haul that the Steelers will inherit in return will be massive — which may even be an understatement.
Whether it is NFL-ready talent or a litany of draft picks — or both — Pittsburgh will most definitely be forced take the best offer available when it arises this offseason.
Antonio Brown has not been traded nor has he been released. But Brown wants a trade and he officially has requested that from the Steelers, per source.

Now, it is simply time to wait and see what happens next. Stay tuned, Steelers fans.
