The Los Angeles Rams have officially brought aboard All-Pro defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh on Friday afternoon. This has potentially given them the top duo upfront in the league alongside the reigning NFL Defensive Player of the Year Aaron Donald.
This entire process of luring in Suh to join Los Angeles was a collective effort by the front office over the last couple of weeks. According to Gary Klein of the LA Times, the 31-year-old revealed following his introductory press conference that it didn't include Donald making a pitch to him to sign with the Rams.
Suh on Donald: "He wasn’t recruiting me but he was definitely excited about the opportunity from my vantage point of being able to team up and play together…. He's a great person. We've met before, we've talked before."

This shouldn't come as much of a surprise given that the Rams had already possessed a strong duo up front with Donald and Michael Brockers, who has established himself as one of the better defensive tackles in the league. The addition of Suh wasn't a necessary add at this point in time, but it is certainly a welcomed acquisition.
Los Angeles now possesses what could be one of the most formidable defensive lines in the league that could cause havoc for opposing offensive lines. Suh is still playing some of the best football of his career that he could become a more dominating factor upfront with Donald and Brockers lined up next to him on any given play. The Rams didn't have a need to go after Suh, but the prime opportunity presented itself this offseason to bring aboard another premier talent on the defensive side of the ball.
If things are to work out effectively while helping the Rams achieve a high amount of success on the field, it could lead to a long-term pairing with Suh alongside Donald over the next several seasons. All of this has created even more buzz and excitement around the organization about what could lie ahead in their pursuit of a Super Bowl next season and beyond that.
