Washington Redskins head coach Jay Gruden was so upset after losing in epic fashion on Sunday that he literally had no words to describe his emotions.
For context, the Redskins lost to the Los Angeles Chargers 30-13 on Sunday, dropping the team's overall record to a woeful 5-8 on the season.
“I’m at a loss for words, quite honestly,” Gruden said, via the Associated Press. “I never thought we’d get beat like this two weeks in a row.”
The Redskins only gained 201 yards of offense against the Chargers a week after they limped to 280 in a 38-14 loss to the Cowboys.
Basically, things have been going poorly for Washington.
Safety D.J. Swearinger, who has already been on record stating his frustrations, was clearly not at a loss for words following the loss.
“It was like just this, ‘Blah, blah. OK, we're out here at practice. Blah,'” Swearinger said. “We've got to practice better. I've been saying it all year. … It's not surprising at all to me. You don't prepare well, you're going to fail. I don't think we prepared well with some of the questions that's been asked (by players) before the game. ‘Are you doing this right here? Are you doing this right there?' We're just not prepared.”
Not a great season for Washington or Jay Gruden.
What does this, if anything, mean in regards to the contract talks with Kirk Cousins?
