There's a chance that the San Francisco 49ers could be without their top offensive weapon in Sunday's NFC Championship game. According to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, 49ers tight end George Kittle did not practice on Wednesday due to an ankle injury.
The 49er's All-Pro tight end still has half the week to rest and recover, but it remains to be something to monitor throughout the week.
Kittle, a third-year tight end out of Iowa, became one of the biggest breakout stars of the 2018 NFL season. The 6-foot-4, 250-pound former Hawkeye reeled in 88 receptions for 1,377 and five touchdowns. His yardage mark was the most by a tight end in NFL history.
This season, Kittle has been equally as impactful. However, injuries have kept him out of two games this season. Still, Kittle managed his second-straight 1,000-yard season and once again added five touchdowns.

Nonetheless, Kittle has been an integral part of San Francisco's stellar 2019 season and is considered by many to be the best tight end in the NFL.
If Kittle can't go against the Green Bay Packers, expect backup tight end Ross Dwelley to step in. Dwelley, a second-year player out of San Diego, has appeared in every game for the 49ers this year racking up 91 yards and two touchdowns.
Along with Dwelley, receivers Emmanuel Sanders and Deebo Samuel could see increased attention in San Francisco's gameplan if Kittle is out.
