There was some slight concern on Wednesday as San Francisco 49ers tight end George Kittle missed the team’s scheduled practice session.
Kittle is just coming off of the heroic performance in Week 14 against the Cincinnati Bengals, where he recorded 13 receptions for 151 receiving yards and one receiving touchdown. He appeared to have suffered a slight knee issue over the fourth quarter of the contest, although it did not prevent him from finishing the game.
Kittle confirmed after the 49ers' road win over the Bengals that he did not come away from the game with any major injury but rather that the slight knee issue “was more of an aggravation.”
The 49ers tight end made his return to practice on Thursday, although he was limited throughout the session.
Still, Kittle downplayed any doubt regarding his availability for the 49ers in their upcoming Week 15 clash with the Atlanta Falcons.
“What week are we in, 15?” Kittle said during a press conference on Thursday. “It’s excessive soreness. Whenever the season ends, hopefully late February, I’ll be good after that.”
Kittle has been on quite a tear for the 49ers since making his return to action following a stint on injured reserve due to a calf injury.
What George Kittle has done since returning from injury in Week 9:
– 38 catches (tied for most amongst all TE)
– 530 yards (120 more than any other TE)
– 6 receiving TD (most of any NFL player)
– 125.5 fantasy points (most amongst TE)The man is unstoppable.

Overall, Kittle has recorded 757 receiving yards and six receiving touchdowns on the campaign.
The 49ers will look to maintain their current spot in the NFC playoff picture with a possible win over the Falcons this week.
