One would think most NFL teams would be extra nice to a guy with the last name “Polite.” However, this does not appear to be the case for the San Francisco 49ers, who were apparently less than gracious during the team's recent NFL Scouting Combine sitdown with former Florida Gators pass rusher and current 2019 NFL Draft prospect Jachai Polite.
According to some recent comments from Polite himself, the 49ers just “bashed” the up-and-comer during his weekend meeting with the NFC West franchise.
#Florida EDGE Jachai Polite said that when he met with the 49ers at the Combine, they didn’t even really talk football with him at all. “They just bashed me the whole time… Idk.”

However, it appears as though the 49ers were not the only team to treat Polite unkindly. The former Gators standout also made a point to note that the Green Bay Packers “bashed” him as well.

“Instinctive rusher with natural feel for attacking the pocket and the explosive athletic ability to finish the job,” read's his NFL.com 2019 NFL Draft profile. “Polite's frightening speed to the edge is the foundation for his pass-rush success, but it's the potential diversity and fluidity of his attack that makes him such a compelling prospect. He has been heavier in his career and might need to add good weight in order to remove himself from the DPR (designated pass rusher) list and into a full-time role as a 3-4 outside backer. Scouts say beware of his floor, but his electrifying rush potential could be hard to pass up in today's pass-happy league.”
There are always odd stories that stem from NFL Scouting Combine meetings and interviews. This year is obviously no different.
