The San Francisco 49ers were able to defeat the Minnesota Vikings in the Divisional Round by containing Dalvin Cook. Ahead of Sunday's NFC Championship Game, Jimmie Ward revealed what the 49ers must do to slow down Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers.

“We have to force them to be one-dimensional,” 49ers free safety Jimmie Ward said via Matt Maiocco. “Stop the run, just like any NFL team and force them to be one-dimensional, and it will probably be good results at the end.”

Last Saturday, San Francisco's defense was keen on preventing the Vikings from running the ball effectively. As a result, Minnesota's offense was held to only 21 rushing yards and the 49ers won by the score of 27-10.

While the 49ers understand they have to prevent Rodgers from finding his rhythm, it's another Aaron they are worried about—Aaron Jones. The 49ers and Packers squared off earlier in the season in Week 12 and they went into the game wanting to hinder Jones.

In the last meeting, Jones rushed for only 38 yards on 13 attempts for the Packers. With San Francisco suppressing Jones, they were able to handily defeat Green Bay 37-8 at home.

However, since Week 12, both teams are vastly different teams than they were in the regular season. The Packers have won their last six games and were able to take down the Seattle Seahawks in the Divisional Round.

Additionally, Rodgers proved that he can still win games with his arm as he threw for 243 yards and two scores last Sunday. The 49ers are focused on stopping Green Bay's rushing attack, but Ward could still be tested by Rodgers through the air.
