Jimmy Garoppolo is liking what he sees from Trent Taylor. The San Francisco 49ers suffered a lot of injuries last year, and their season was essentially ended by Garoppolo's ACL tear. Naturally Garoppolo and other big names like Jerick McKinnon, also recovering from an ACL tear, have gotten most of the attention.
But Taylor was also banged up last year, and his recovery has flown more under the radar. Taylor had a promising rookie season in 2017, but then had back surgery. He never was quite himself last year, and his production dipped as a result. Now he's looking to bounce back, and Garoppolo has been impressed.

“He knows his strengths and he knows his weaknesses and he’s going to do everything he can to make the weaknesses better. He doesn’t have many them, but it’s just when you have a guy like that it makes my job very easy,” he continued.
Head coach Kyle Shanahan has also noticed improvement.
“it was so hard for Trent last year just because he was battling that back thing all of last offseason, so he missed a whole offseason of working out, which is a huge deal,” Shanahan said on Tuesday. “Trent spent his whole time away healthy. He had no setbacks with his back, so we could see the first day he got back here when he ran routes that he was feeling better.”
Taylor had 43 catches for 430 yards as a rookie, and it sounds like the Louisiana Tech product could build on those numbers in 2019. If Garoppolo's comments are any indication, he'll be playing a big role.
