San Francisco 49ers general manager John Lynch is in awe of his new pass rusher, Nick Bosa.
More specifically, Lynch dubbed Bosa “an absolute technician,” per the Bay Area News Group's Cam Inman.
#49ers John Lynch on Nick Bosa: When you watching players, certain things jump out right away.
Nick has a tremendous first step. He gains a ton of ground.
A mix of speed and power, and he's an absolute technician with his hands.— Cam Inman (@CamInman) April 26, 2019
49ers.com senior reporter Joe Fann reiterated the word “technician” in his article about Bosa on Thursday.
Article Continues BelowThe San Francisco 49ers have selected Nick Bosa with the second overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft.
Bosa (6-foot-4, 266 pounds) joins a star-studded 49ers defensive line alongside DeForest Buckner and Dee Ford. Bosa had four sacks in three games last season before missing the rest of the year with an abdominal injury.
He posted 8.5 sacks and 16 tackles for loss as a sophomore in 2017. Bosa was the consensus top pass rusher in this year's class, and NFL.com's Lance Zierlein compared him to Michael Bennett.
He's known as a technician who is great with his hands at the point of attack. It's well documented that Bosa has a football pedigree, most recently with brother Joey Bosa being taken third overall by the Los Angeles Chargers back in 2016. Nick is expected to be every bit as productive in the NFL.
We got our guy.

Fann also notes the 49ers have drafted four defensive linemen in the first round since 2014. Bosa follows in the footsteps of Arik Armstead (2015), DeForest Buckner (2016), and Solomon Thomas (2017).
Bosa should help a 49ers defense which finished 28th in the NFL in points allowed per game (27.2) in 2018. Based on Lynch's assessment, Bosa could join the ranks of Jimmy Johnson, Patrick Willis, and Ronnie Lott as the best defenders in 49ers franchise history.
This season can't come soon enough for the 49ers faithful.
