Nick Bosa hasn't even played a minute of professional football for the San Francisco 49ers, but he has already sustained an injury and impressed his general manager, John Lynch, with his speedy recovery.

The second overall pick of the 2019 NFL Draft impressed the team during training camp. However, he sustained a right ankle sprain that kept him out of all the team's preseason games. Nonetheless, Bosa's good progress with his recovery makes him a possible pick for the team's season opener against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Per Matt Maiocco in NBC Sports Bay Area:

“Knowing how much he means to this organization and how we’re looking at this as a long-term proposition, we’re not going to rush anything,” Lynch said. “And doing what he does, it’s one thing to be able to run out here, but doing it against a 330-pound man, turning and all the things a D-lineman has to do is another level. But I can say we’re very encouraged with the way it’s going with Nick.”

There are reports that the team will be careful with their star defensive end. San Francisco wants to make sure that he is ready to play without worrying about his ankle.

The 49ers have good reason to be careful with his injury situation due to his incredible performance for Ohio State. He recorded 29 tackles for loss, 17.5 sacks, 47 solo tackles, one fumble recovery touchdown, and two forced fumbles.

Bosa is going to be an important defender for the team and will be one of the league's top pass rushers like his brother Joey. As long as he stays healthy, the entire world and every quarterback in the league will be in Bosa's back pocket.
