In the last several days, San Francisco 49ers quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo has caught much attention from his actions off the field as he was seen having dinner with adult film actress Kiara Mia.
It has brought forward some criticism about that decision that has given off a negative light on Garoppolo. However, there has been several to defend him that includes former Washington Redskins great Joe Theismann stating during a recent interview with TMZ Sports that the 26-year-old should be allowed to live his life off the field how he wants.
“Just because it doesn't fit in to what everybody feels like it should, doesn't necessarily mean that you have to tell somebody how to live their life,” he says.
Much of this criticism has come in the way of the what the public perception will be of him going out with an adult film star that would be a reflection of him off the field. There has also seemingly put into question his morals to date someone with that type of background. That said, it has only become something in media scrutiny because of who is and what the woman he took out on a date does for her career.
This has become an ongoing discussion that has no bearing on his performance on the field in any manner. It should be only a matter of time before this quiets down with the start of the 2018 season just over a month away. The only way that this will continue to be a topic of discussion is if he struggles on the field that will make this a driving point for criticism.
Nonetheless, there doesn't appear to be any issues from current and previous NFL players about his decision to do that with his spare time away from the game.
