The Ohio State product sustained an ankle injury during the team's training camp on August 7. While the injury wasn't one that will take him away from the game for a long while, there were questions as to whether he was fit enough to start the season.
However, he returned to team practice on September 2. He impressed the coaches and journalists that were in the facility. He shared that he was focused on getting back into shape so he can start his first NFL game.
“I don’t think I’ve ever been as motivated in my life to get back,” Bosa said, via the San Francisco Chronicle's Eric Branch. “I’ve had my sights set on playing my first NFL season. Every waking hour was spent getting my ankle right.”
He also shared what he did during his rehab to get back in time for the Bucs game.
“I used everything they have here, every machine,” Bosa said. “I’ve got a big ice bucket with my name on it in there right now. I just did anything to get it feeling better.”
Bosa was an outstanding defensive player in his three years with the Buckeyes. He completed 77 tackles, 29 tackles for loss, and 17.5 sacks in his three years at the Ohio Stadium.
Pundits and fans expect him to easily translate his skills into the NFL. With the way he has been approaching the game, nobody will be surprised if he starts out strong.
