A San Francisco 49ers fan was attacked and severely injured Sunday afternoon before the NFC Championship Game. According to Los Angeles CBS News, first responders we called to one of SoFi Stadium's parking lots. This is where they found Daniel Luna, a 49ers fan, with severe injuries that are believed to be from an assault.
Luna was taken to Harbor-UCLA Medical Center to attend to severe upper body and face injuries. This is where he was placed into a medically induced coma. As of Wednesday night, Luna remained in the coma, and no descriptions of suspects had surfaced.

We know local authorities are conducting a full investigation and we’re here to support them however we can. Our thoughts and prayers go to Mr. Luna, his family, friends, and the medical team providing him care.”
According to ABC7 Eyewitness News, the 40-year-old man is the owner of Mistura, a Peruvian restaurant in Oakland. ABC7 also reported that Luna was found in Parking Lot L around 4 p.m. The NFC Championship Game kicked off at 6:30 p.m., two and a half hours after the Los Angeles County fire department responded to the call.
Luna was wearing a 49ers jersey at the time of the incident, but the motive for the attack is unclear. Officials believe that no weapons were used, but the attacker or attackers used bodily force to injure Luna.
