Former first-round pick Takk McKinley cannot find a landing spot.
McKinley was waived by the Atlanta Falcons after he complained about the team's failure to trade him ahead of the deadline.
The Cincinnati Bengals claimed McKinley off waivers, but also parted ways with him after a failed physical. The San Francisco 49ers then scooped up McKinley, seemingly giving this weird saga an end.
Not so fast. The 49ers have also waived McKinley after he failed yet another physical. ESPN's Adam Schefter also says rookie wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk, tight end Daniel Helm and Pro Bowl offensive tackle Trent Williams have been placed on the reserve/COVID-19 list.

Takk McKinley has not played since Week 7 due to a groin injury that has given him issues throughout the year. It remains to be seen just when he will make his way back to an NFL roster.
Article Continues BelowFormer Falcons head coach Dan Quinn raved about McKinley after he showed up to camp in tremendous physical shape. Indeed, McKinley had a big season opener, recording a sack and a whopping six quarterback hits against the Seattle Seahawks. But he saw a sharp decrease in playing time in Week 2 and has hardly played ever since.
The 49ers could have used McKinley as a depth piece off the edge opposite Arik Armstead, who has struggled to replicate his success from last season.
However, the 49ers (4-6) will have to turn elsewhere to bolster their front seven as they scrap and claw to get back into the playoff race.
Takk McKinley, meanwhile, will hope for another chance elsewhere.
