Some counties in California have altered their guidelines for COVID-19, leading to some concerns with the NFL teams who reside in the state. Despite the new regulations, the Los Angeles Rams and the Los Angeles Chargers are not expected to relocate for the rest of their home games, per ESPN's Adam Schefter.
Late last month, Santa Clara County — the county where the San Francisco 49ers play — prohibited contact sports from happening amid the COVID-19 pandemic. Therefore, the 49ers were forced to relocate for the rest of their home games this season.
After mulling their options, San Francisco has already made the move to Arizona and will host their remaining home contests at the same stadium the Arizona Cardinals play in. On the other hand, Los Angeles County hasn't restricted contact sports, allowing the Rams and Chargers to continue playing at SoFi Stadium.
Article Continues BelowWith five weeks remaining in the season, the Rams are set to host the New England Patriots in Week 14, the New York Jets in Week 15, and the Arizona Cardinals in Week 17. As for the Chargers, they are set to face the Patriots at home on Sunday, the Atlanta Falcons in Week 14, and the Denver Broncos in Week 16.
Before the season began, the NFL informed teams that they'd need to abide by the protocols given to them by their respective counties. While the 49ers were dealt an unfortunate hand in having to relocate, the Rams and Chargers will be staying put at SoFi Stadium barring any changes in the coming weeks.
