As the 2018 NFL season begins to wind down, there are quite a few teams already shifting their focus to the offseason. One of those teams is the Seattle Seahawks, who are fresh off of a disappointing Wild Card loss against the Dallas Cowboys. Looking ahead to the offseason, there are a few big decisions that Seattle will have to make.

One of those decisions will be about star safety Earl Thomas, who has been at odds with the team all year. After a hot start to the season, Thomas went down with a season-ending broken leg. He notoriously flipped on his own bench on the way out on the cart due to a contract dispute that had been happening.

According to a report from The News Tribune, it is very clear that Pete Carroll and the Seahawks do not have any plans for Thomas staying with the team moving forward.

“Uh….,” Carroll responded, “we will see what happens. “I don’t know. Yeah, I’d love… Earl’s a great player. I don’t know what that means for contact and all that stuff but it’s one of the issues. We’ve got a bunch of them.’’

Thomas played in just four games during the 2018 NFL season. In those four games, he racked up 22 total tackles to go along with three interceptions and five defended passes.

There is no denying that Thomas is a superstar when he's healthy and the Seahawks have relied heavily on him in years past.

If the Seahawks do decide to let him walk, there have been rumblings that the San Francisco 49ers could have interest in him. San Francisco already has Richard Sherman and could try to “re-create” the “Legion of Boom.”

All of that being said, it will be interesting to watch and see what happens with Thomas this coming offseason.
