When the injury news came down after Week eight that Tennessee Titans star running back Derrick Henry would be missing 8-12 weeks with a Jones fracture, (a fracture of the bone on the outside of the foot (the fifth metatarsal) many pundits and fans alike wrote off the Titans when considering which team might get the AFC‘s top seed and the bye that comes with it.
Well, here we are in Week 18, the Titans (11-5) are still the number one seed in the AFC playoff standings, and now today, news broke from ESPN's Diana Russini, that Henry will return to practice this week.
Titans RB Derrick Henry is expected at practice tomorrow, per sources. After jogging on the grass last week in cleats, another great step towards his return. I was told there's always a chance he can play against Houston, but realistically it is a longshot.

The Titans might be the one seed, but that is more because they held their heads above water without Henry and less because they played just perfectly on their own. The team was 6-2 with Henry in the lineup and went 5-3 without him with one game left.
Henry is not likely to play in that game but should be good to go after the Titans' first-round playoff bye. If the Titans do indeed win their last game of the season against the 4-12 Houston Texans, they could improve their record to 6-3 without Henry and 6-2 with him.
At the time of his injury, Henry was leading the NFL in rushing yards, rushing touchdowns, total touchdowns, and yards per carry. Easily the best running back in the NFL, Henry will make an immediate impact when he returns, and judging by the recent reports, his return will be at the perfect time for the Super-Bowl aspiring Titans.
