Tennessee Titans quarterback Ryan Tannehill has made only one start with his new squad but already some trust with his new receivers. Tannehill was with the team all offseason and training camp which helped build the trust, and he knows the trust is going to continue to grow as they get more time together during practice and games.
“Yeah, I expect it to continue to develop,” Tannehill said via the Titans team website. “The passing game is timing and trust, expecting those guys to be in the right spot at the right time. So, I have a ton of trust in those guys and I think I saw it happening in practice in training camp when I was able to throw to those guys a little bit. But really, just getting a week of practice under my belt with them only deepened that trust.”
It was clear in his first start that Tannehill had a lot of confidence in his guys. He was throwing balls up to his receivers and letting them make the big plays.

“We build that trust in training camp and OTAs and practice, and we had a good feeling with Ryan and Marcus,” Humphries said. “To go out there in a game, to catch those contested passes and to be able to move the ball down the field and throw for a lot of yards, it does bring that extra confidence that you can do that in a game and hopefully we can carry that momentum forward.”
The Titans get a juicy matchup against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers who currently have the best run defense and the worst pass defense in the league. To have success in this game it's probably going to come through the air which means Tannehill and the receivers need to be on the same page.
