If anyone knows Tennessee Titans quarterback Ryan Tannehill, it's New York Jets head coach Adam Gase.

Gase spent three years as Tannehill's head coach with the Miami Dolphins. While Tannehill was adequate during Gase's stint, he had poor injury luck, never blossomed as often expected and ultimately would end up being traded from Miami (following Gase's firing) during the offseason.

Now, Gase and Tannehill are on entirely different clubs, but that doesn't mean Gase doesn't still pay attention to his former player.

How about the first time Gase watched Tannehill this season? He saw him throw an interception. That led to Gase to turning the television off because he believed he might be bad luck for Tannehill:

“I ended up turning it off because I thought I was bad luck for him,” said Gase on Wednesday, per Armando Salguero of The Miami Herald.

Gase added that he reverted to checking the box score afterward.

Tannehill supplanted Marcus Mariota as the Titans' starting quarterback midway through Tennessee's Week 6 loss to the Denver Broncos. Since then, he has thrown for 649 yards, five touchdowns and two interceptions while completing 73.1% of his passes and posting a passer rating of 108.3.

The 31-year-old, who played his collegiate football at Texas A&M, was originally selected by the Dolphins with the No. 8 overall pick of the 2012 NFL Draft. He spent the first seven years of his career in Miami, posting mostly mediocre results. In 2014, he recorded his best year; throwing for 4,045 yards, 27 touchdowns and 12 picks on a 66.4% clip and registering a passer rating of 92.8.
