Coming off their most successful campaign in nearly a decade, the Minnesota Vikings are heading into the NFL offseason with serious uncertainty surrounding the future of their quarterback position. The front office is a precarious spot with all three of their options under center set to hit the free agent market.
In the weeks leading up to the start of the NFL free agency period, there is still no clarity as to what the Vikings will decide to do. According to Courtney Cronin of ESPN, general manager Rick Spielman voiced once again that the team is still in the middle of the process of assessing the situation.

I think we're in a very unique situation because of the in-depth knowledge we have on all three. Also, the practical game knowledge that we have because all those guys have played for us. There's been no decisions made, unlike what's been reported.”
What this speaks to is the difficulty that this decision has been for the organization as it will have a significant impact on the future of the team. There have been some indications of what the front office may do as they are expected to not place the franchise tag on Case Keenum while also allow for Teddy Bridgewater to become a free agent despite some potential issues with his contract.
On top of that, there is the possibility that the team could jump into the fray as serious suitors for Pro Bowl quarterback Kirk Cousins once he officially becomes available later this month. The Vikings are currently projected to have $48.4 million in salary cap space, which is more than enough for them to offer Cousins an intriguing deal.
This has become quite a complex situation that should receive clarity ahead of the free agency period with the team lining up face-to-face meetings with their quarterbacks in the near future. Whatever decision that Minnesota comes could set the table for the direction that they head over the rest of the offseason.
