The Minnesota Vikings saw their dream season come to an end after a disappointing 38-7 loss in the NFC Championship game against the Philadelphia Eagles. The defeat immediately shifted the attention surrounding the team to their pending quarterback situation with Sam Bradford, Case Keenum, and Teddy Bridgewater all becoming free agents this offseason.

With that in mind, Bridgewater voiced on Monday that he strongly believes that he believes he will be the starting quarterback next season, according to Kevin Seifert of ESPN. The only question is where.

Although Bridgewater is quite confident he can secure the starting job, Keenum did make a strong case that he is deserving of that long-term role in Minnesota. He led the Vikings to an NFC North title and a trip to the NFC Championship game for the first time since the 2009 season.

Despite all of that, he hasn't exactly voiced full confidence that he will be back next season. Keenum didn't have a firm grip on the position throughout the year, as there were constant conversations about his status on a week-by-week basis in spite of his strong play on the field. This could possibly contribute to Keenum deciding to secure a lucrative long-term contract elsewhere as the clear-cut starter of an NFL team if the Vikings decide to low ball him or stick with Bridgewater.

Meanwhile, Bradford's future in Minnesota is by far the murkiest, as his continued health issues make it difficult for the front office to commit to him as the long-term answer.

Bridgewater may hold the clearest path to the starting job at this point in time. What could also work in his favor is that head coach Mike Zimmer has previously spoken quite highly of the 25-year-old.

Ultimately, clarity on this quarterback situation in Minnesota should be reached once free agency begins in early March.
