Jonathan Quick has been traded for the second time in two days ahead of the NHL Trade Deadline. After he was shockingly dealt from the Los Angeles Kings to the Columbus Blue Jackets on Wednesday, he was flipped to the Las Vegas Golden Knights on Thursday, according to The Athletic's Aaron Portzline.

The Blue Jackets will be retaining 50 percent of Quick's salary, with goalie Michael Hutchinson and a 2025 seventh-round pick headed back to Columbus.

Although Quick was reportedly extremely unhappy to be traded from the franchise where he won two Stanley Cups, it's not a bad landing spot for the veteran goaltender, as the Knights' goalie core is crippled by injury.

It's certainly an opportunity for Quick to land the starting role in Las Vegas, at least in the short term, for a team that is battling for the top spot in the Pacific Division.

Rookie sensation Logan Thompson is week-to-week and hasn't begun skating, while backup Adin Hill has been serviceable but not excellent in his time as the starter.

Although Quick wasn't happy to leave the franchise he has spent his entire career with, he'll probably be much more content in a Golden Knights' sweater than with the bottom feeding Blue Jackets.

The 37-year-old was traded to the Jackets for Vladislav Gavrikov and Joonas Korpisalo as the Kings look to improve their defense core and upgrade their goaltending.

Jonathan Quick has 369 wins since the start of the 2007-08 season, the second most in the NHL over that span. He won two Stanley Cups with the Los Angeles Kings, in 2012 and 2014, and has been the team's starting goalie for the better part of his career.

It's now the end of an era in LA, with Korpisalo expected to battle with Phoenix Copley for the starting job.
