Toronto Raptors Head Coach Nick Nurse announced an injury update on Sunday for Scottie Barnes, Gary Trent Jr., and Thad Young, via ESPN's Tim Bontemps.

This is horrible news for the Raptors, as they are already down 1-0 in the series. If there's any positive to take from this, it's that the Raptors have yet to play at home. Over the past several seasons, Scotiabank Arena has become one of the best playoff environments in the NBA.

Scottie Barnes is the most notable of the three, and his likely loss is the most impactful. The injury took place in the fourth quarter when 76ers star Joel Embiid inadvertently stepped on Barnes' ankle. Barnes was a key factor to the series due to his versatility and length, as he can guard anyone on the court. Now, the rookie's season is in doubt.

As for the other two, veteran Thad Young would've been a direct beneficiary in minutes from the Barnes injury. Young sprained his thumb early in the game, as he's averaged 18 minutes a game this season for the Raptors. Gary Trent Jr. struggled mightily in Game 1, scoring nine points on 2/11 shooting in 26 minutes. He has been dealing with multiple injuries throughout the season, including his toe and left quad. Trent's averaged over 18 points per contest this year, so his loss would hurt the team's offense tremendously.

Fred Van Vleet and Pascal Siakam will likely have to carry the burden to try and even the series. Down two starters and a key bench member, the Toronto Raptors will have their hands full in Game 2 if they're without these three players.
