For almost three years, Novak Djokovic and Nick Kyrgios absolutely hated each other. That is not an understatement: both men seemed to have genuine disdain for each other. They traded barbs on social media and through reporters. It was the type of rivalry that felt personal.

Time heals all wounds, though, and by the looks of things, it seems like both men have made up. Ahead of their Wimbledon finals match, the two had a hilarious exchange on Instagram that seemed to hint at an improved relationship between the two. Kyrgios even invited Djokovic to dinner after their match. Djokovic accepted, but on the stipulation that the loser of the match pays.

Well, it seems like Kyrgios will have to empty his wallet tonight. Novak Djokovic took down his new friendly rival in an epic four-set Wimbledon Finals match that went into tie-breaks. After the game, the Serbian star spilled on his friendship with Kyrgios, saying that they officially had a bromance. (via Saša Ozmo)

Well, that certainly settles the deal. Tennis fans more than likely didn't expect these two greats to make amends, not after what happened in the last few years. Kyrgios and Djokovic had been going at each other since 2019, when the former made some incendiary comments about the Serbian star.

The fireworks started escalating, though, during the height of the COVID pandemic. After a video of Djokovic partying made the rounds on Twitter, Kyrgios (who has never been shy about speaking his mind) went in on the star. He called his actions irresponsible for causing danger to other people. Since then, the two have traded jabs against each other.

Now, though, the two players seem to be cool with each other now. Here's to hoping this partnership continues on for a long time!
