Denver Nuggets president of basketball operations Tim Connelly believes starting point guard Jamal Murray should be joining teammate Nikola Jokic in Charlotte for the 2019 All-Star game.

The Nuggets enter Saturday tied with the Golden State Warriors for the best record in the Western Conference at 36-15, and Jamal Murray has played a huge role in Denver's success this season.

In 47 games this season for the Nuggets, Murray is averaging 18.5 points, 4.4 rebounds and 4.9 assists. The 21-year-old is shooting 43.2 percent from the field, 36.5 percent from beyond the arc and 83.6 percent from the free-throw line.

The guards who made the All-Star team from the Western Conference were Stephen Curry, James Harden, Damian Lillard, Klay Thompson and Russell Westbrook. While Jamal Murray is having a great season, it's hard to justify who he should have replaced. There's always going to be players who feel like they got snubbed. It's just part of the All-Star process.

Murray, though, doesn't seem like the type of player who really cares about that stuff. The sharpshooter is all about the team and winning games, and the Nuggets have been doing a lot of that this season.

Murray is currently sidelined with an ankle injury as well, so it will be good for him to get some rest during the All-Star break.
