Denver Nuggets point guard Isaiah Thomas' fall from grace has been almost as rapid as his meteoric rise to fame. From MVP contender just a couple of seasons ago to a player that now barely figures in his team's rotation, it has been a rough couple of years for the former two-time All-Star.

Nevertheless, despite his current standing, Thomas is still able to hold his head high, always remaining positive and just making the most of his current situation with the Nuggets.

Joe Vardon of The Athletic describes the type of attitude Thomas currently holds as he is forced to watch his teammates from the sidelines.

So this is Thomas’ life now, just two years removed from stardom. Playing pickup games with G Leaguers and assistant coaches and Michael Porter Jr., who one day could be great. Thomas vociferously cheers on teammates and works out with the hope of restarting his career, in earnest, next season.

Thomas has embraced his new role, and it’s on full display, whether you’re watching him play three hours before the real game starts, or work the sidelines in warmups and headband. He’s a different kind of playoff star.

“I’ve got a job to do,” Thomas told The Athletic, as he otherwise politely declined an interview. He has his pride and doesn’t want to say something he shouldn’t while not playing.

Thomas' is currently in an unenviable place. However, with the type of mindset he has, it would not be surprising if he is able to make a glorious comeback next season.

That is, of course, if his oft-injured 29-year-old body plays along.
