Denver Nuggets guard Jamal Murray continues to make a strong case why he deserves an All-Star spot for the Western Conference this season. On Friday, the  23-year-old Canadian reset his career-high anew, dropping 50 points in the Nuggets' 120-103 victory over the Cleveland Cavaliers at Quicken Loans Arena.

The Blue Arrow reached the personal milestone in ultra-efficient fashion, knocking down eight of his 10 attempts from past the arc and 21-for-25 from the field overall. Interestingly enough, the 6-foot-3 Nuggets guard reached that mark without even attempting a single free throw in the game — a first in NBA history. He also scattered six rebounds, two assists, and two steals in 38 minutes.

Jamal Murray's epic performance had shades of his incredible run inside the NBA bubble at Walt Disney World last year. The Nuggets were not even supposed to make it all the way to the Western Conference Finals, since they fell 3-1 to a dangerous Utah Jazz team in the first round.

Murray, however, went bonkers in the ensuing games to complete the 3-1 comeback. He did the same in the next round, helping Denver overcome another 3-1 deficit against the Los Angeles Clippers.

While the Nuggets are still Nikola Jokic's team, there's no doubt Murray also deserves a ton of credit for their 16-13 start this campaign. In 26 games, he is averaging 19.4 points on 45.2 percent shooting from the field and 35.8 from deep, along with 4.3 rebounds, 4.5 assists, and 1.1 steals.

Denver has gone 5-5 in their last 10 outings, but it's not for the lack of effort on Murray's part. They'll be back in the top 4 in the West soon if Murray continues to light up the scoreboard in their coming games alongside the Joker.
