Denver Nuggets star Jamal Murray is the latest player to ink a massive shoe deal. The Canadian guard has joined the New Balance family on a multi-year contract.

Murray was previously signed with Adidas, wearing their shoes even before his pro days when he was at the University of Kentucky. The Nuggets youngster stood out heavily in last year's NBA playoffs after wearing fluorescent green Adidas sneakers.

During Denver's run to the Western Conference Finals, Murray played a vital part, averaging 26.5 points and 6.6 assists. He was a massive reason the Nuggets were able to claw back from a 3-1 deficit against the Los Angeles Clippers in the Western Conference Semifinals, winning three straight to advance to a showdown with the Lakers. It seems as those fluorescent shoes helped Murray raise his game to another level, posting eight points more per night in the postseason.

New Balance isn't worn by a ton of players in the NBA, but Kawhi Leonard and Dejounte Murray are other notable talents to don the NB shoe. Although Jamal Murray showed out last season with Adidas on his feet, maybe he felt like a change was necessary, especially considering how dominant Kawhi is in the New Balance sneakers.

Hopefully, in the future, Murray can get his own signature shoe just like Leonard.
