The Western Conference is quite the gauntlet, and Thursday night offered a thriller between the Denver Nuggets and Los Angeles Clippers. The Nuggets walked away victorious after holding off a Clippers comeback late in the fourth quarter.

It seemed like a tiring game, but the Nuggets gave it their all. Jamal Murray and Nikola Jokic were two players who came up big in the clutch at the right time, giving Denver a fourth win in a row. Murray was excited and left a strong statement during the postgame.

Via The Denver Post:

“I've been doing it for 23 years, man,” Murray said. “I practice those shots. I live for those shots. I want those shots.”

Murray had a terrific game on Thursday night, recording 23 points, eight rebounds, and two assists. He was the scoring leader for the Nuggets and provided everything they needed to win the game.

The matchup between the Nuggets and Clippers was gritty and fun. Nuggets head coach Michael Malone offered his two cents on the game:

“It wasn't pretty,” Nuggets coach Michael Malone said. “Felt like a playoff game, to be honest with you. Grind it out. We need to find ways to win these types of games.”

Denver earned a huge victory that should boost its confidence at the right time as the team continues to play well after acquiring Aaron Gordon ahead of the trade deadline. The Nuggets now get a few days off, as they don't play their next game until Sunday against the Orlando Magic.
